CMAS Championships 2014-2019

Two major changes occured during this period. First the Open Water competitions, (still held together with the swimming pool ones) saw the disappearance of the 20 km. Moreover the 4x3 km race became a (more reasonable) 4x2 km by mixed teams.

In 2014 was organised the first official competition for master athletes, in the form of a World Cup. This kind of competition was met with great success and in 2019 took place the first Masters' World Championships.

A change of periodicity took place in 2016, where a World Championship took place following the one organised in 2015. As a consequence the World Junior Championships of 2016 were followed by World Championships in 2017. Accordingly no European Championships were held in 2016, the ones of 2014 being followed by the Europeans of 2017.
